Chris Aliprandi - Finance, Tarpon Landings HOA

Hello,

My name is Chris Aliprandi. I recently retired from a 37-year career in the securities industry, working in various controllership and CFO positions in New York and Switzerland.

I have a degree in accounting from the University of Delaware and I am a CPA. I began my career at Price Waterhouse in their New York audit practice. My client responsibilities included Phelps Dodge, Fisher Brothers Real Estate, Dean Witter Funds, and IBM. After three years I joined Morgan Stanley as a product controller, responsible for US Treasury securities, repos, MBS and CMO. Later I worked as the NY and Tokyo controller for Cantor Fitzgerald, the largest inter-dealer broker in the world.

Most recently I was a partner and the CFO for Arel Capital, a real estate investor which specializes in multi-family residential property turnarounds. We were the developer of The River Oaks, Houston’s premiere luxury condominium complex. I have retired as an employee but continue as a partner in many of Arel’s property deals.

As a young retiree, I maintain a home in New Jersey, where I enjoy bowhunting, weight-training, woodworking, winemaking, and entertaining family and friends around my wood-fired outdoor pizza oven. My wife Diana and I have four children. For decades before my retirement, I made annual visits to Fort Myers to visit my parents there, so I became very familiar with Southwest Florida. Upon my retirement, I chose Tarpon Landings as a candidate for a second home based on its location, large units that live like a house, private garages, and resort-style amenities.

Although it was the physical property that initially attracted me as a renter, it was the community of friends I met here that convinced me to buy a unit. After all, friends are one of the ‘five F’s of a successful retirement.

I hope to strengthen our monthly and annual reporting practices, improve our internal controls and be a constant advocate for well-funded reserve balances to ensure that our beautiful home can be maintained in pristine condition for decades to come.
